The Rajasthan Police Constable Exam is conducted by the Rajasthan Police Department for the recruitment of constables in various categories such as General Duty (GD), Driver, Band, and Telecommunications. The exam is divided into different phases including a written test, physical efficiency test (PET), physical standard test (PST), and proficiency test for certain posts. 1. Written Test

The written test is the first stage of the selection process and is objective in nature.

  • Time Duration: 2 hours
  • Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

Syllabus:

General Knowledge, General Science, Social Science & Current Affairs

History of Rajasthan:

  • Important historical events, major dynasties, freedom movement in Rajasthan.

Art, Culture, and Heritage of Rajasthan:

  • Folk dances, music, literature, art forms, festivals, and traditions.

Geography of Rajasthan:

  • Physical features, climate, rivers, flora and fauna, and natural resources of Rajasthan.

Economy of Rajasthan:

  • Major industries, agriculture, and economic developments in the state.

Polity of Rajasthan:

  • Political system, Panchayati Raj, and governance structure in Rajasthan.

Indian Constitution:

  • Fundamental rights and duties, Directive Principles, and structure of government.

Current Affairs:

  • National and international current events, sports, awards, important government schemes, and policies.

General Science:

  • Basic concepts of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science.

Reasoning, Logical Ability, and Basic Knowledge of Computers

Logical Reasoning:

  • Coding-decoding, pattern recognition, analogies, syllogisms, and puzzles.

Mathematical Reasoning:

  • Number series, arithmetic reasoning, and problem-solving.

Data Interpretation:

  • Interpretation of graphs, tables, and charts.

Basic Computer Knowledge:

  • Fundamentals of computers, operating systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet, and email basics.

Knowledge about Crimes against Women & Children and Legal Provisions/Rules relating to it (some basics)

Crimes against Women & Children:

  • Understanding types of crimes, protection laws.

Legal Provisions:

  • Basic awareness of laws such as Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Juvenile Justice Act, POCSO Act, 2012.

Rajasthan State General Knowledge

Rajasthan Current Affairs:

  • Latest events, government initiatives, and policies in Rajasthan.

General Knowledge:

  • Basic facts and figures about Rajasthan.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The PET is conducted to test the physical fitness of the candidates.

For Male Candidates:

  • Race: 5 km race to be completed within a specified time.

For Female Candidates:

  • Race: 5 km race to be completed within a specified time.

For Ex-servicemen:

  • Race: 5 km race to be completed within a specified time.

For Constable (Driver/Band/Telecom):

  • Different physical tests may apply depending on the category.

Note:

Candidates are required to meet certain physical standards such as height, chest measurements, etc., which vary based on category and gender.

3. Physical Standard Test (PST)

The PST is conducted to measure the physical standards of the candidates, such as height, weight, and chest (only for male candidates).

Height:

  • Minimum height requirement varies by category and gender.

Chest (For Male Candidates):

  • Minimum chest measurement requirement, with and without expansion.

Weight (For Female Candidates):

  • Minimum weight requirement.

4. Proficiency Test (For Drivers, Band, and Telecommunications Posts)

This test is conducted only for candidates applying for specific posts like Driver, Band, and Telecommunications.

Driving Test:

  • For Constable (Driver), candidates have to undergo a driving test to demonstrate their driving skills.

Band Skill Test:

  • For Constable (Band), candidates need to demonstrate their proficiency in playing the musical instrument.

Telecom Test:

  • For Constable (Telecommunications), candidates need to demonstrate their proficiency in technical tasks related to telecommunications.

5. Document Verification

After clearing the written test, PET, PST, and proficiency test (if applicable), candidates will undergo document verification. It is essential to carry all necessary documents such as educational certificates, identity proofs, and other relevant documents.

6. Medical Examination

Candidates who qualify through all the above stages will undergo a medical examination to ensure they are medically fit for the role.

Additional Notes:

Negative Marking:

  • There is usually a provision for negative marking in the written test. Candidates should answer carefully to avoid penalty for wrong answers.

Preparation Tips:

  • Candidates should focus on Rajasthan-specific general knowledge, practice reasoning and mathematical problems, and improve their physical fitness to clear the PET and PST.
