Rajasthan Public Service Commission RAS and RTS Exam Syllabus

The RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission) conducts the RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) and RTS (Rajasthan Taxation Service) Combined Competitive Exam to recruit candidates for various administrative posts in the state government. The exam consists of three stages:

The Preliminary Exam is an objective-type test consisting of a single paper.

Indian Polity, Constitution, Political System, and Governance

  • Features of the Indian Constitution, Preamble, Fundamental Rights and Duties.
  • Structure and functioning of the Union and State Governments.
  • Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues.
  • Important amendments and provisions of the Indian Constitution.

Geography of India and World

  • Physical Geography: Landforms, climate, soil types, natural resources.
  • Human Geography: Population, migration, urbanization.
  • Economic Geography: Agriculture, industries, trade.
  • Geography of Rajasthan: Physical features, climate, vegetation, rivers.

Indian Economy

  • Basic concepts of economics, economic planning in India.
  • Agriculture, industry, service sector in India.

Science and Technology

Current Affairs

2. Main Examination

The Main Exam is descriptive in nature and consists of four papers.

Paper-I: General Studies I

3. Personal Interview

The interview assesses the candidate’s personality, suitability for the civil services, general awareness, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Additional Notes:

Marks Weightage:

  • The Preliminary Exam is only qualifying in nature, and its marks are not counted in the final merit. The final merit is based on the Main Examination and Personal Interview.

Current Affairs:

  • Candidates must stay updated with national and international news, especially related to Rajasthan.

Focus on Rajasthan:

  • Special emphasis is given to the history, culture, and current affairs of Rajasthan.
