1. General Studies (75 Questions):
This section tests the candidates’ general awareness of various subjects.
General Science:
- Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology basics up to the 10th standard level.
- Understanding scientific concepts, daily life applications, and the impact of science on society.
Current Events:
- National and International Events, Sports, Awards, and Honors.
- Political Science: Understanding the basic concepts of governance, the political system, public administration, and recent political developments.
Geography:
- Physical features of India, Climate, Crops, Natural Resources, and Location-based understanding of India and Tamil Nadu.
History and Culture of India and Tamil Nadu:
- Major events, movements, and cultural heritage of India and Tamil Nadu.
- Social and Cultural movements in Tamil Nadu, prominent personalities, and their contributions.
Indian Polity:
- Constitution of India, Panchayat Raj, Public Administration, Union, State, and Local Governments, and basic principles of the Indian Constitution.
Indian Economy:
- Understanding the basics of the Indian economy, agricultural practices, and trends in India and Tamil Nadu.
Indian National Movement:
- Key events, important leaders, the role of Tamil Nadu in the Indian independence movement.
Development Administration in Tamil Nadu:
- Administration structure in Tamil Nadu, welfare schemes, socio-economic issues, government policies, and their impact.
2. Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (25 Questions):
This section evaluates the numerical and reasoning ability of the candidates.
- Simplifications, Percentage, Ratios, Proportions, Time and Work, Area and Volume.
- Logical Reasoning, Puzzles, Visual Reasoning, Number Series, Data Interpretation.
- Problems on Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Average, Time and Distance, and Basic Statistics.
3. General English/General Tamil (100 Questions):
Candidates can choose either General English or General Tamil. This section focuses on language skills, grammar, and comprehension.

- Parts of Speech, Tenses, Articles, Prepositions, Sentence Structure, Transformation of Sentences, Error Spotting.
Vocabulary:
- Synonyms, Antonyms, Prefix, Suffix, Compound Words, One-word Substitutes, Proverbs, Idioms, and Phrases.
Comprehension:
- Passage analysis, understanding the theme, and answering related questions.
Literature:
- Authors and their Literary Works, important lines from poems, characters, and plots.
Translation:
- Translation of Tamil to English and English to Tamil sentences.
General Tamil:
Grammar:
- Parts of Speech, Sandhi, Samasam, Tenses, Sentence Transformation, and Types of Sentences.
Literature:
- Important Tamil literary works, authors, poets, and their contributions.
Comprehension:
- Analysis of prose and poetry.
Translation:
- Translation of English to Tamil and vice versa.
2. Document Verification and Counselling:
Candidates who clear the written exam are called for document verification and counselling based on their rank and preferences. The final selection is made after verifying the eligibility and authenticity of the submitted documents.
