The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) conducts the Telangana Police Constable exam to recruit candidates for various positions in the police force, including Civil, Armed Reserve, and other specialized units. The selection process for the Constable position consists of several stages:

1. Preliminary Written Test (PWT):

The Preliminary Written Test is the first stage and serves as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Preliminary Exam Syllabus:

Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (100 Questions):

• Arithmetic Topics:
  • • Simplification, averages, percentages, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, simple and compound interest, time and work, time and distance, mensuration, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, data interpretation, etc.
• Reasoning Topics:
  • • Analogies, coding-decoding, puzzles, syllogisms, blood relations, direction sense, series completion, statement conclusions, logical reasoning, data sufficiency, and non-verbal reasoning.

General Studies (100 Questions):

• General Science:
  • • Basic concepts of physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, and their applications in daily life.
• Current Affairs:
  • • National and international events, important sports events, awards, appointments, and recent developments.
• History of India and Telangana Movement:
  • • Ancient, medieval, and modern history, major historical events, Telangana history, culture, and significant movements.
• Geography of India and Telangana:
  • • Physical features, climate, agriculture, natural resources, rivers, and economic geography.
• Indian Polity and Economy:
  • • Indian Constitution, government schemes, political system, Panchayati Raj, public policy, and economic reforms.
• Ethics and Social Awareness:
• • • Sensitivity towards social justice, rights of women, children, and vulnerable sections of society.

2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

The Physical Measurement Test is conducted to ensure that candidates meet the required physical standards.

Height Requirements:

• Male: Minimum 167.6 cm (relaxations applicable for reserved categories).
• Female: Minimum 152.5 cm (relaxations applicable for reserved categories).

Chest Measurements (Male Candidates Only):

• Unexpanded: Minimum 80 cm.
• Expanded: Minimum 85 cm.

3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

The Physical Efficiency Test evaluates the candidate’s physical fitness. Different events are specified for male and female candidates, with varying standards.

PET Events for Male Candidates:

1. 100 Meters Run: Qualifying time – 15 seconds.
2. Long Jump: Qualifying distance – 3.80 meters.
3. Shot Put (7.26 kg): Qualifying distance – 5.60 meters.
4. High Jump: Qualifying height – 1.20 meters.
5. 800 Meters Run: Qualifying time – 170 seconds.

PET Events for Female Candidates:

1. 100 Meters Run: Qualifying time – 20 seconds.
2. Long Jump: Qualifying distance – 2.50 meters.
3. Shot Put (4 kg): Qualifying distance – 3.75 meters.

4. Final Written Examination (FWE):

The Final Written Examination is the concluding stage that assesses the candidate’s knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
