1. Preliminary Written Test (PWT):

Preliminary Exam Syllabus:
Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability:
- Arithmetic: Simplification, percentages, ratios, time and work, time and distance, averages, profit and loss, interest, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, data interpretation, etc.
- Reasoning: Analogies, similarities, differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, coding-decoding, puzzles, and data sufficiency.
General Studies:
- General Science: Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, and their applications.
- Current Affairs: Important national and international events, sports, awards, and honors, important appointments, etc.
- History of India: Ancient, medieval, and modern history with emphasis on Indian national movement.
- Geography of India: Physical, social, and economic geography, including agriculture, resources, industries, and trade.
- Indian Polity and Economy: Constitution of India, political system, governance, public policy, reforms, rural development, and welfare schemes.
- Ethics, Sensitivity to Gender and Weaker Sections, Social Awareness: Concepts related to social justice, equality, women empowerment, rights of children, and vulnerable groups.
2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT):
The Physical Measurement Test is conducted to ensure that candidates meet the required physical standards.
Height Requirements:
- Male: Minimum 167.6 cm (relaxations applicable for certain categories).
- Female: Minimum 152.5 cm (relaxations applicable for certain categories).
Chest Measurements (Male Candidates Only):
- Unexpanded: Minimum 86.3 cm.
- Expanded: Minimum 5 cm expansion.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
The Physical Efficiency Test evaluates the candidate’s physical fitness. Different events are specified for male and female candidates, with varying standards.
PET Events for Male Candidates:
- 100 Meters Run: Qualifying time – 15 seconds.
- Long Jump: Qualifying distance – 3.80 meters.
- Shot Put (7.26 kg): Qualifying distance – 5.60 meters.
- High Jump: Qualifying height – 1.20 meters.
- 800 Meters Run: Qualifying time – 170 seconds.
PET Events for Female Candidates:
- 100 Meters Run: Qualifying time – 20 seconds.
- Long Jump: Qualifying distance – 2.50 meters.
- Shot Put (4 kg): Qualifying distance – 3.75 meters.
4. Final Written Examination (FWE):
The Final Written Examination consists of multiple papers, including technical papers specific to the chosen cadre.
