- The cut-off date for minimum and maximum age limit for application under Bihar Special School Teacher Eligibility Test, 2023 will be 01.08.2023.
- The minimum age of the applicants is 18 years as on the cut-off date 01.08.2023 for special school teachers of classes 1 to 5 and classes 6 to 8 under Bihar Special School Teacher Eligibility Test, 2023.
- Maximum age – Unreserved (Male) is 37 years, Backward Class, Extremely Backward Class, Women of Backward Classes and Unreserved Women is 40 years and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Male, Female) is 42 years.
- Those teachers appointed and working under Panchayati Raj Institution and Municipal Body Institution, who possess the educational and training qualification of a special school teacher under the provisions of Bihar State School Teacher (Appointment, Transfer, Disciplinary Action and Tenure of Service) Rules (Updated as amended) 2023. The maximum age for, will be relaxed.
- In the light of Resolution Memorandum No. 062 dated 22.01.2021 of General Administration Department, Bihar, in addition to the maximum age limit, relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit is admissible for the disabled persons. In case of making a claim, it will be mandatory to submit the certificate issued by the competent authority.
- In the light of General Administration Department’s Circular No. 5374 dated 02.04.2013, ex-servicemen candidates will be given relaxation in upper age limit of 03 years and equivalent to the sum of the service period spent in Defense Services, provided that their actual age at the time of application is 57. should not exceed one year.

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and possessing valid CRR No. of Rehabilitation Council of India along with D.El.Ed in Special Education from an institute recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India.
Passed Intermediate with Maulvi in Urdu with at least 50 marks from any recognized board or recognized by Bihar State Madrasa Education Board/Maulana Mazharulhaq Arabic and Persian University-Patna.
Or
D.El.Ed Certificate/Diploma in Special Education from an Institution recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India, which is specialized and should be equivalent to D.El.Ed. in education along with holding valid CRR No. of Rehabilitation Council of India.
Six months of teaching training in the field of differential disability.

Graduation degree from a recognized university with minimum 50 percent marks and B.Ed. in Special Education from an institute recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India and holds valid CRR No. of Rehabilitation Council of India.

B.Ed. with Certificate/Diploma from an institute recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India, which is equivalent to B.Ed. in Special Education and valid CRR No. of Rehabilitation Council of India.
